Mitchell Weiser delivered an emotional stoppage-time winner to give Werder Bremen a dramatic 3-2 home victory over FC Augsburg. The 32-year-old scored in the third minute of added time to seal the comeback win.
The victory last Saturday propelled Werder to eighth place in the Bundesliga table. With seven points from their first four matches, Daniel Thioune's team has made a solid start to the season. The side is in good form, as reflected in the standings, and faces league leaders Borussia Dortmund after the upcoming international break.
Weiser suffered a serious knee injury in July 2025 and had not played a competitive match since. His appearance against Augsburg was therefore a surprise.
