The transfer window remains open until September 1, but Werder aims to have the team together by the cup game against Lüneburg on August 22.
Can Stage and Schmid stay?
Head coach Daniel Thioune has made it clear how important Stage is to the team. The Dane, whose contract runs until 2028, is a key player. Thioune hopes that Stage will continue to play in green and white. Schmid, under contract until 2027, is also a key player.
