Block 53 at Werder Bremen's Weserstadion is expected to reopen for fans for the Bundesliga home match against TSG Hoffenheim on 31 October. After the partial collapse of a stand in the Weserstadion, Block 53 is expected to be usable again for Werder Bremen's match against TSG Hoffenheim at the end of October. The incident occurred in July when a load-bearing column was unintentionally damaged during renovation work in the VIP area. This led to the partial collapse, affecting around 500 seats. No one was injured.

For the upcoming home match against SC Paderborn on Saturday, however, the affected area will remain closed. The game kicks off at 15:30 and will be broadcast on Sky. It coincides with the stadium's 100th anniversary in Bremen. Werder go into the match in seventh place with eight points from five games. The opponent from Paderborn currently sits in 15th place.

The return of fans to Block 53 is an important step towards normalcy. The club now has a fixed date for the sector's reopening. The next home game after Paderborn is the match against Hoffenheim on 31 October at 15:30.
