Werder Bremen on Brink of Victory against Member Initiative
Werder Bremen is on the brink of victory against a member initiative that demands the right to member data. The Land Court has failed to reach a settlement, and Werder Bremen will announce the verdict on August 14.
What's happening?
A member initiative had won the right to member data (email addresses) in an emergency proceeding before the district court. Werder Bremen appealed the decision in the next instance. Initiator Pascal Tetschet is seeking information for members on three contentious proposals to be decided at the member meeting (November 15).
Why is this important for Werder Bremen?
The club rejected this with reference to data protection and appealed the decision after the verdict. Before the Land Court, the desired settlement by the court failed. Werder Bremen rejected it.
What comes next?
On August 14, the verdict will be announced. Probably in favor of the initiative. Because in principle, Judge Holger Schröder supports the verdict of the district court with reference to a judgment of the Federal Court of Justice: „It speaks very much in favor of the claim (for member data, d. Red.).“
Current Stand
Werder Bremen currently occupies 15th place in the Bundesliga with 28 points from 29 games. The team has scored 32 goals and conceded 52. The title win is 48 points behind the leaders Bayern Munich. The next game will take place on February 6, 2027 against 1. FC Köln.
