Werder Bremen may have to prepare for the departure of Justin Njinmah. The 25-year-old striker is weighing concrete transfer options — and the hottest trail currently leads to England.

What happened?

The attacker, who successfully completed the mandatory fitness diagnostics over the weekend, is expected to join the season’s opening training session on Sunday at 3 p.m. But behind the scenes, Njinmah is seriously considering a move. As reported by Deichstube, the Hamburg-born forward is already examining concrete options — both in Germany and across Europe. His current market value is estimated at five million euros.

Why might Njinmah leave Werder?

The reasons behind his transfer considerations stem largely from the past. Under former head coach Ole Werner, Njinmah saw no prospect of more playing time and was dissatisfied with his role. If Werner were to remain in charge, the striker wanted to leave the club. „He has a special ability with his pace, and that’s being noticed in the market,“ said Clemens Fritz, Werder Bremen’s sporting director, in a Friday interview with Deichstube. No concrete offers have materialized yet, however.

How is Werder Bremen responding?

SV Werder is open to a transfer — provided the overall package fits. **According to Deichstube reports, the club is willing to let Njinmah go if the asking price is right.** The figures from winter 2025, when AS Roma bid up to ten million euros, won’t be reached this summer 2026. Werder rejected that offer at the time, demanding more.

What does Njinmah himself say?

The 25-year-old sees a move abroad as an option but also expresses contentment at Werder. „I’m open to offers and want to gain new experiences,“ Njinmah said. For now, he remains part of the squad and will take part in pre-season training.

Werder Bremen currently sit 15th in the Bundesliga with 32 points from 34 games and a goal difference of -23. The team trails league leaders Bayern Munich by 57 points and has managed just one win in their last five matches (LLLDW).
