Werder coach Friederike Kromp is working as an expert for Bremen Vier during the World Cup. She will watch a large part of the 104 games. However, she won't be able to watch all of them. "I won't be able to do it all, I'll have to miss some games", she says in an interview with Bremen Vier. The fact that many games of the tournament take place at night is actually not a problem for her. "I'm lucky to be a night owl", explains the Werder coach, who is staying in Berlin during the World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada. Kromp reveals her secret favorites: "I'm looking forward to Morocco, who have been doing very well lately." The North Africans finished third at the 2022 World Cup and won the Africa Cup in January 2026 (on the green table). But Kromp also has Mexico on her radar. "I'm curious to see what the Mexicans have to offer", she says before the opening match between Mexico and South Africa on Thursday evening. Her main focus at the tournament, of course, is on the team of national coach Julian Nagelsmann. For the opening match, she considers Curacao, ranked 82 in the FIFA world rankings, to be a welcome opponent for Germany. I'm a die-hard Germany fan and I'm really looking forward to the German games. But Kromp doesn't expect an easy ride through Group E, as Germany will face Ivory Coast and Ecuador after that. These are opponents that should not be underestimated. Rather, she expects two teams that will put a lot of pressure on the Germans.
