Werder coach Thioune sings team hit before pro jury
Werder coach Daniel Thioune impressed with singing before pro jury. A training camp tradition. New season: 15th in Bundesliga.
Werder coach Daniel Thioune sings before pro jury Werder Bremen coach Daniel Thioune (52) impressed not only his players but also a pro jury with his singing during a team evening in Zillertal. Despite a hoarse voice, he performed the classic “The Man” by Aloe Blacc. A tradition that has been part of the preparation for years. ## What happened? At the final barbecue evening, Thioune had to take the singing test at the request of his players. Manager Clemens Fritz (45) confirmed: “Many had to perform. We had a jury. Everyone did well.” Werder finished last season in 15th place in the Bundesliga with 28 points (7W-7D-15L). ## Why it matters for Werder The singing performances are part of team dynamics. Earlier, the social part took place in Bremen, but in recent years it has been in Zillertal. Thioune passed the test, unlike young players Paul Erevbenagie and Mats Heitmann, who had to jump into the lake as punishment. ## What comes next? Werder will start with an away game against FC Augsburg (10th place) on February 13, 2027. Currently, Keke Topp is sidelined due to injury. The team has maintained traditions in preparation to strengthen cohesion.
