Ludovit Reis’s First Goal

Ludovit Reis (26) scored his first goal for Werder Bremen in a 3-0 win over fifth‑tier Lüneburg. The former HSV player joined from Brugge on a free transfer and was named “Man of the Match” in the 90 minutes. He said: “I felt very comfortable from the first second because I received support from the team, the club and the fans.”

Fan Reactions

Reis was heavily heckled by former HSV fans at the Millerntor. Every ball contact in his 90 minutes was met with whistles. The video message of his farewell at HSV, where he said, among other things, “My heart is blue,” was widely shared online and angered many HSV supporters.

Cup Usage

In the cup, coach Daniel Thioune used Reis as a substitute before halftime and then replaced Senne Lynen as a sixth‑man. Thioune said: “It couldn’t have gone better. It was good for him to have the game in front of him… Today the mistakes were not punished.”

Outlook

Reis did not play a full 90‑minute match for Brugge in the previous season. The cup game boosts his chances of securing a place in Werder’s starting lineup.
