Werder Bremen rules out Keke Topp's return. The 22-year-old striker will be out for at least 9 months.
What happened?
Keke Topp tore his cruciate ligament in a test match against the U23 at the end of March and has been out of action ever since.
Why is this important for Werder?
Manager Clemens Fritz told BILD: „We don't want to put Keke under pressure. We're not expecting him to return this year.“
What's next?
The rehab is going according to plan. Topp is currently undergoing further treatment in Munich and will return to Bremen after the training camp. | Stat | Value | | --- | --- | | Time out | at least 9 months | | Age | 22 years |
What's next for Topp?
If Topp is available from January, he will still have 20 league games to play. The Bundesliga will go into winter break after only 14 matchdays, from December 15 to 17. Werder is one of 26 professional clubs participating in the new „Bundesliga Talent Series“. This is intended to provide match practice for talents from the U17 to the U21.
