Werder Bremen shortens test match duration

Werder Bremen changes the test match duration against Paderborn. Originally, the games should have lasted 90 minutes, but due to personal issues, the duration has been shortened by 15 minutes.

Manager Clemens Fritz: "We have already had some absences, Paderborn too. Therefore, it makes sense to shorten the test." Newcomer Cedric Itten will make his debut after his World Cup break.

What's behind it

The preparation for Werder is running smoothly. The Bremer have won all four games, impressing offensively. However, there is still potential for improvement in defense.

Coach Daniel Thioune: "The focus this weekend will be on our offensive and defensive play. We want to play in different formations and have control over the game defensively." So far, the Bremer have mainly faced weaker opponents.

What's next?

Werder must now face two tougher opponents: Paderborn and Auxerre. But that's exactly what they wanted. Manager Clemens Fritz: "As the preparation progresses, we will increase the quality of the test match opponents. Nevertheless, the previous tests were also very important." Now it will be shown whether Werder can also deliver against better opponents.

Current situation
