SV Werder Bremen has settled a months-long legal dispute with a club member. The agreement with Pascal Tetschet was reached ahead of the extraordinary general meeting scheduled for 15 November, preventing further court proceedings. The club can now focus more calmly on its sporting objectives as it sits fifth in the Bundesliga with 15 points from 8 games.

The conflict centred on a fan initiative's demand for the club to release all members' email addresses for campaigning purposes. A court ruled in August that there was no urgency for such a data release and recommended an out-of-court settlement. The parties have now followed this advice.

As part of the settlement, Pascal Tetschet gains the right to publish his concerns in the member magazine and via email without editorial restrictions. He will also hold conversations with the candidates for the new presidium. Former Werder president Hubertus Hess-Grunewald welcomed the resolution. He said the initiative had shown that the desire for participation had changed in recent years. As a modern club, it was important to find joint solutions that considered the interests of all members.

Tetschet himself expressed satisfaction. He stated it was good that a joint solution had now been found with the involvement of the honorary council. He thanked the 'Fanabteilung' project, which acted as a mediator between the parties.

Resolving the conflict provides the club with certainty for the upcoming members' meeting. Future legal challenges to decisions made at this meeting are now ruled out. The club can now fully focus on its sporting objectives. The team's recent form in the league shows two wins, two draws, and one defeat from its last five matches. Its most recent result was a 2-0 win over 1899 Hoffenheim on 31 October, with goals from Niclas Füllkrug and Eren Dinkci. Füllkrug is the team's top scorer this season with 9 goals. The next fixture is an away match against 12th-placed VfB Stuttgart on Saturday 7 November.
