Werder Bremen prepares for possible Njinmah departure

After the failed transfer of Justin Njinmah to Hull City, Werder Bremen is preparing for potential consequences. The 25-year-old striker showed good form with two goals in the test match against FC Verden 04 (6:2), but the planned move collapsed after the dismissal of Hull's sports director Jared Dublin. Now the Bundesliga club is keeping Eren Dinkçi as an alternative in case Njinmah leaves.

Why Dinkçi is interesting for Werder

The 24-year-old Turk, currently under contract with SC Freiburg, could consider a return to Bremen. Dinkçi, who was already discussed as a possible reinforcement in the winter, is appreciated both athletically and personally by Werder's management. With a stay in the Bundesliga, he would also fulfill his preference.

What comes next?

So far, there have been no concrete talks between Werder and Dinkçi's representatives. Sports director Clemens Fritz emphasized that surprises can always be expected in the transfer phase. "There is interest in our players, but we don't give water level reports," said Fritz. If Njinmah leaves, Dinkçi could be an option – but only if something happens on the wings.

Werder's current situation

With 0 points and 0:0 goals after the first matchday, Werder Bremen is in 15th place in the Bundesliga. Additionally, Keke Topp is sidelined due to injury. The Bremen team must stabilize quickly to achieve their season goals.
